Department of Public Safety (DPS)
The Arkansas Department of Public Safety (ADPS) ensures the citizens' safety and security through emergency management, law enforcement, and support services. The DPS is also in charge of issuing Alarm Licenses for contractors in Arkansas. The licensing process includes the submission of miscellaneous documents, a general background check, and a fingerprint information submittal for all the licenses, except for Restricted and Unrestricted Alarm Systems Company Class E Licenses. In addition to the above, the Company Manager must take a course from one of the following organizations: NICET, NESA, Elite CEU or ESA; and pass an examination administered by the Arkansas State Police. The Department supervises different alarm-related trades:

How to Get an Alarm License in the State of Arkansas?

State Fire Marshal’s Office
The State Fire Marshal's Office grants permits for above-ground storage tanks used for combustible, flammable, and hazardous materials as well as licenses to businesses and individuals working in the fireworks' industry. The Office regulates the following trades:
- Retail Fireworks
- Pyrotechnic Shooter
