Connecticut Contractor Licenses
The Connecticut Contractor Department of Consumer Protection (DCP), the Department of Public Health (DPH),and the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) are the official divisions in charge of issuing Contractors' Licenses. Those departments determine the qualifications of applicants before licensing, set forth conditions for licenses, and establish contractual limits. As a result, different requirements could apply depending on the profession and the type of work to be conducted. Most Connecticut Contractor Licenses require candidates to take and pass examinations as part of the application process.
Most of the applicants in the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) must take an apprenticeship course related to the trade, pass the Business And Law Contractor Examination and the specific trade examination for the classification requested. PSI© is the testing company responsible for administering the tests necessary for getting a Connecticut Consumer Protection (DCP) Contractor License.
