Nonelectrical sign contractor means a contractor whose practice and scope of work are limited to installing, repairing, adding or changing exterior nonelectrical signs according to the building code and Chapter 320, Ordinance Code. Notwithstanding other provisions of this Section, signs meeting the following criteria are exempt from licensure under this Section, but shall be required to meet the permitting requirements of Chapter 320, Ordinance Code, Chapter 656, Part 13, and Chapter 326, Ordinance Code: (i) Signs less than 32 square feet in size; and (ii) No higher than eight feet to the top of the sign.
