The Master Electrician License for alarm systems that operate at 50 volts or less allows you to do the following work:

• Telephone wiring
• Computer cabling
• Sound systems
• Data links
• Data
• Network installation
• Television
• Cable TV wiring
• Antenna wiring
• Fiber optics installation

How to Get the Master Electrician License in Virginia?

1. Meet one of the following requirements in order toapply for this trade:
   • Have one year of practical experience as a licensed journeyman in the trade; provide your VA License number if applicable
   • Have ten years of practical experience in that trade, as verified by individuals who have observed the candidate work in the trade
   • Be currently certified or licensed as a journeyman or a master by a governing body located outside the Commonwealth of Virginia
2. Fill out the Master Electrician application and the experience verification form
3. Send it to:

4. After passing the exam, complete the PSI© examination registration form
5. Apply to PSI©
   • If applying online:
