Texas Mold Assessment Company License

The Mold Assessment Company License provides official authorization for the following activities:

  • Employ more than one Licensed Mold Assessment individual (Consultant or Technician) for related activities
  • Provide reports after pre-remediation mold assessments which can be used in remediation protocols and mold management plans
  • Create mold remediation protocols to be implemented in mold remediation projects
  • Hire licensed laboratories to provide analysis of mold samples
  • Perform post-remediation mold assessments
  • Create clearance reports when compliance is confirmed

How to Get the Mold Assessment Company License in Texas?

  1. Submit a completed Mold Assessment Company Initial License Application Form. Registration process can also be completed online
  2. Pay the corresponding fee
    • All company owners who own ten percent or more of the business should be listed on the application
  3. Include a physical in-state location on the application. P.O Boxes are not acceptable addresses
  4. Provide evidence of commercial general liability insurance in the amount of at least one million per occurrence, this policy must be maintained for the duration of the registration. For this purpose, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) has created the Certificate of Insurance Form
  5. Designate at least one Licensed Contractor to act as the Responsible Party for its business according to the definitions on the Mold Assessors and Remediators Administrative Rules
  6. Await for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to give a response once the application is completed and reviewed
