Texas Asbestos Project Manager License
The Asbestos Project Manager License grants the licensee authorization to:
- Be employed by a Licensed Asbestos Consultant Agency
- Perform project monitoring
- Monitor the specifications and plans, on behalf of the building owner, during an asbestos abatement project
- Recommend to the Asbestos Consultant changes to the asbestos abatement specifications and plans
- Assist the Asbestos Consultant in the development of an asbestos exposure assessment
- Provide the consultant with all project documents after completion of the project
How to Get the Asbestos Project Manager License in Texas?
- Comply with the requirements set forth for Asbestos Project Manager:
- Proof of passing the Department’s examination for Asbestos Contractor & Supervisor (review the Form and Calendar)
- Registration will only be granted after receiving the examination fee, the registration form, a copy of valid training certificates, and any other documents
- Evidence of work experience participating on at least 3 Asbestos Abatement Projects gained within the past 24 months - experience must be gained after completing the Initial Training Course
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-inch by 2-inch color headshot photo with white background
- DSHS Physician Statement signed by a Doctor within the last 12 months
- Initial Asbestos Contractor & Supervisor Training Certificate and ID (if applicable)
- Evidence of any Asbestos Contractor & Supervisor Refresher Training Certificates and Training IDs (if applicable) obtained before submission of application
- Proof of passing the Department’s examination for Asbestos Contractor & Supervisor (review the Form and Calendar)
- Determine if the Asbestos Project Manager Application is available online
- If available, use the Regulatory Services Online Licensing System platform
- If not available, see the Applications and Forms page to print an Application Form and submit it by mail
- Pay the corresponding application fee
