Texas Asbestos Operations and Maintenance - Restricted Contractor License
With the Asbestos Operations and Maintenance - Restricted Contractor License, your organization is allowed to:
- Perform asbestos SSSD O&M activities with Registered Asbestos Abatement Workers, Licensed O&M Supervisor, or Licensed Asbestos Abatement Supervisor
- Employ an Asbestos O&M Supervisor to supervise or perform asbestos SSSD O&M activities in a public building owned or managed by the O&M contractor
- Hire a responsible person who has completed the Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor training to carry out asbestos SSSD O&M activities
How to Get the Asbestos Operations and Maintenance - Restricted Contractor’s License in Texas?
- Comply with the requirements set forth for Asbestos Operations and Maintenance - Restricted Contractor:
- For foreign or out of State Companies: Certificate of Authority to do business in Texas issued by the Secretary of State or proof of exemption filed
- For all Companies: Documentation of exemption or evidence of good standing from the Texas State Comptroller of Public Accounts or proof of exemption filed
- Copy of Assumed Name if operating with a DBAs Company
- Complete Business Information Form
- Copy of most recent Training Certificate and ID (if applicable) of Asbestos Contractors & Supervisors Course for the responsible person
- Copy of Asbestos Operations and Maintenance Supervisor ID Card for the responsible person
- Copy of the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures that meet the requirements of the TAHPR 295.43 (e) (3-10). Copies of Federal Regulations may be obtained from the EPA Regional Office at 1201 Elm Street, Suite 500 Dallas, TX 75270
- Determine if the Asbestos Operations and Maintenance - Restricted Contractor Application is available online
- If available, use the Regulatory Services Online Licensing System platform
- If not available, see the Applications and Forms page to print an Application Form and submit it by mail
- Pay the corresponding application fee
- Expect a response from the Department after the application has been validated
