New Mexico Sheet Metal (JSM) Journeyman License

The Sheet Metal (JSM) Journeyman License allows you to do the following:

• Work under an MM-3 Heat, Vent, and Air Conditioning or MM-98 Mechanical License
• Metal formed by an industrial process into thin flat pieces

How to Get the Sheet Metal (JSM) Journeyman License in New Mexico?

1. Satisfy the experience requirement:
   • At least two years of documented Sheet Metal (JSM) Journeyman experience
2. Take and pass the following exam:
   • New Mexico Sheet Metal (JSM) Journeyman Trade Exam.
3. Submit a complete notarized package with the following documents and send it to PSI©:
   
   • Contractor License Application
   • (CID) Contractor License Code Bond
   • Valid Qualifying Party Certificate
   • Examination Passing Score
   • Proof of Financial Responsibility Bond
   • Current (within the last year)New Mexico Tax ID number application with official stamp or registration certificate.

4. Once the application packet has been approved and eligibility cleared, the license will be issued via USPS to the home address provided. (Licenses are effective only for three years, and a Contractor License Renewal Form must be submitted prior to expiration during each cycle).

New Mexico's Regulation & Licensing Department requires all candidates applying for the Sheet Metal (JSM) Journeyman License to take the Sheet Metal Practical Examination Journeyman as part of the licensing process.
