The Natural Gas Fitting (MM-2) Contractor License allows you to do the following work:

Install hot water heating systems not exceeding 30 p.s.i. or 400,000 b.t.u./hour input
Install, repair, alter, service and maintain natural gas piping and fittings
Steam and hot water boilers
May connect water to existing valved outlets
Warm air heating systems, including chimney connections
Flues
Refractories
Fittings valves
Burners
Thermal insulation
Accessories and incidental piping
Incidental controls and control wiring, pneumatic control systems
Warm air appliances and other listed gas appliances
Includes all required excavating
Trenching and backfilling

May not install LP Gas systems.

How to Get the Natural Gas Fitting (MM-2) Contractor License in New Mexico?

Satisfy the experience requirement:
- At least four years of documented Natural Gas Fitting (MM-2) Contractor experience
Take and pass the following exams:
- New Mexico Natural Gas Fitting (MM-2) Contractor Trade Exam.
- New Mexico Business and Law Examination (PSI©).
Submit a complete notarized package with the following documents and send it to PSI©:

Once the application packet has been approved and eligibility cleared, the license will be issued via USPS to the home address provided. (Licenses are effective only for three years, and a Contractor License Renewal Form must be submitted prior to expiration during each cycle).
