How to Get the Natural Gas Fitter (JG) Journeyman License in New Mexico?

Satisfy the experience requirement:
- At least two years of documented Natural Gas Fitter (JG) Journeyman experience
Take and pass the following exams:
- New Mexico Natural Gas Fitter (JG) Journeyman Trade Exam.
- Natural Gas Fitter Practical Examination Journeyman
Submit a complete notarized package with the following documents and send it to PSI©:
- Contractor License Application
- (CID) Contractor License Code Bond
- Valid Qualifying Party Certificate
- Examination Passing Scores
- Proof of Financial Responsibility Bond
- Current (within the last year)New Mexico Tax ID number application with official stamp or registration certificate.

Once the application packet has been approved and eligibility cleared, the license will be issued via USPS to the home address provided. (Licenses are effective only for three years, and a Contractor License Renewal Form must be submitted prior to expiration during each cycle).

New Mexico's Regulation & Licensing Department requires all candidates applying for the Natural Gas Fitter (JG) Journeyman License to take the Natural Gas Fitter Practical Examination Journeyman as part of the licensing process.
