Nevada Electrical (C2) Contractor License
The Electrical (C2) Contractor License allows you to install, change and preserve systems that are wind energy based for residential and commercial with non-profit purposes. You will also be able to do the following work:
- Electrical wires
- Fixtures
- Appliances
- Apparatuses
- Raceways
- Conduits
The Electrical (C2) Contractor License allows you to perform the work of any of the subclassifications:
Electrical Wiring (C2A):
- Electrical wires
- Fixtures
- Appliances
- Apparatuses
Integrated Ceilings (C2B):
- The installation, alteration and repair of:
- Wiring
- Fixtures
- Suspensive systems
- Ducts and other related apparatuses of integrated ceilings
- Interior electrical illumination
- Modular units, each unit containing an electrical lighting fixture
- Incidental acoustical tile or a similar material
- The installation, alteration and repair of:
Fire Detection (C2C):
- Electrical sensors
- Alarms
- All appurtenances and related wiring
Low Voltage (C2D):
- Installation, alteration, and repair of systems that:
- Use fiber optics
- Do not exceed 91 volts
- Including the following systems:
- Telephone
- Sound
- Cable television
- Closed circuit video
- Satellite dish antennas
- Instrumentation controls
- Temperature controls
- Computer networking
- Landscape lighting
- Installation, alteration, and repair of systems that:
How to Get the Electrical (C2) Contractor’s License in Nevada?
- Attain a Nevada business ID before starting the NV Contractor Application. To obtain the Nevada business ID, an application for a Nevada Business License must be submitted to the Nevada Secretary of State
- Accumulate the necessary documents requested by the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB) and submit them with your contractor application
- History of past and current employment
- Select the Electrical (C2) contractor license from the official list of Nevada State Contractors
- Provide a Signature on the application where requested
- Experience Documentation
- Copies of driver's licenses or government-issued IDs
- Submit a check, cashier's check, or money order payable to NSCB
- Child Support Information Statement – Sole Proprietors ONLY
- Background Disclosure Statement andFingerprint Background Waiver forms
- Financial Statement
- Present proof of past work history by submitting one of the following types of documentation:
- FourCertification of Work Experience Forms (Certificates)
- Each certification of experience time must equal a minimum of 4 full years (1460 days)
- Proof of eligibility forLicensure by Endorsement. Applicants are advised to review theState Equivalency Chart to determine their eligibility. To be considered for licensure by endorsement, you must submit aRequest for Verification of License with your application, completed by your endorsing state
- Proof of transferrable military training and experience
- An active Master's Certification issued by an officially recognized agent or governmental agency similar to the Electrical (C2) classification
- FourCertification of Work Experience Forms (Certificates)
- Complete and send the Nevada Contractor License Application form with all completed forms
- Wait for an Examination Eligibility Form from the NSCB once the application has been sent and the Electrical (C2) work experience has been confirmed
- Take and pass the Management Survey Business and Law Exam (CMS) and Electrical (C2) trade exam administered by PSI©
- With the approval of the license by the NV State Contractors Board, the applicant must send proof of Workers' Compensation Insurance and thelicense bond indicated on the approval letter
- Expect for the Electrical (C2) contractor license by mail once the NSCB issues the license
