A Master of General Mechanics is a man whose business is the performance of contracts requiring the experience, financial means, knowledge and skill to perform the following: install, maintain, repair, alter or extend air conditioning, refrigeration, heating fireless, ventilation, boiler, and pressure vessel systems, and all fixtures, apparatus, or equipment used in connection therewith; also, pipes, ducts, pipe insulation, vessels and ducts, process and pressure piping, installation of chilled water lines and related work, pneumatic control piping, installations of pumps and gasoline tanks, piping for installations of pumps and gasoline tanks, sprinkler systems and standpipes, air lines, vacuum lines, oxygen lines, nitrous oxide lines, ink and chemical lines, fuel transmission lines, sewage and plant mechanical sections of water treatment and installation of a condensate drain from an air conditioning unit to an existing safe waste or other approved disposal that is not a direct connection to a sanitary system, all in such a manner as to comply with all plans, specifications, applicable codes, laws and regulations. Said Master must have a Master of General Mechanics as a qualifying agent. The scope of work of said license shall also include any excavation work incidental thereto, but shall not include any work specified in this chapter as the work of any other trades or contractor, such as, but not limited to, natural gas or liquefied petroleum fuel lines . inside buildings, drinking water lines or connections to them, sanitary sewer lines, swimming pool pipes and filters, and electrical work. The scope of work of such license shall also include the work of a specialty mechanical contractor, except for transportation and elevator assembly facilities; and if there is work related to such contractor's authorized scope of work to be performed under the contract for which such contractor does not hold a certificate of competency, such work shall be subcontracted to a contractor qualified in the trade concerned.
