Georgia Wastewater Laboratory Analyst License

The Wastewater Laboratory Analyst License allows you to do the following work:

• Perform laboratory tests in conjunction with the operation of a wastewater treatment plant
  • Provide for the treatment and disposal of wastewater, including industrial process wastewater

How to Get the Wastewater Laboratory Analyst’s License in Georgia?

1. Complete the 27-hour basic wastewater laboratory approved course OR course a minimum of an Associate Degree in Biology or Chemistry, or, at the Board's discretion, other degrees containing sufficient courses in biology or chemistry
2. Take and pass the PSI© Wastewater Laboratory Analyst Exam
3. Meet the experience and education requirements:
   • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED certificate
   • Three months of work experience
4. Submit an application form
5. Attach the required documents:
   • Proof of Training
   • High School/GED/College Transcript
   • Experience Dates
   • Job Description
   • Secure & Verifiable Document
   • Affidavit of Citizenship
   • Immigration Documents (If applicable)
   • Background Check: can be obtained at the local law enforcement office
   • Background Consent Form (If applicable)
   • Disciplinary Action/Sanctions
     • Court Documents
     • Letter of Explanation
6. Expect the Board of Examiners for Certification of Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators and Laboratory Analysts response regarding the license issuance

Applicants may take the examination before the experience requirement is met, but shall not apply for the certifications until completing the requisite experience in the actual system operation.
