The Radio Certified Electronic Technician (R-2) License allows you to do the installation, maintenance, repair, replacement, inspection, and modification of:

  1. Visit the CT Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) website to read the eligibility criteria, prerequisites, and documentation requirements for obtaining a Radio Certified Electronic Technician (R-2) License. Follow the process held in the Licensing for Television and Radio Work
  2. Meet the necessary education requirements requested by the DCP
  3.     • Criminal Conviction Worksheet, when requested
    • Original copy of the letter of apprenticeship completion issued by the CT DOL
    • Receipt for payment of the non-refundable application fee by check and/or money order to the "Treasurer, State of Connecticut"
    • For military service experience and training related to this application, contact the CT Department of Labor at (860) 263-6128 to request a recommendation
    • For equivalency and training, submit a completed application with any of the following pertaining to the Radio Certified Electronic Technician (R-2):
      • Certificates from completed courses
      • Educational transcripts or diplomas
      • Notarized letters from employers demonstrating on-the-job training
      • Copies of any licenses you may hold in another state
  4. Schedule the Radio Certified Electronic Technician (R-2) administered by PSI© in the desired location and time and pay the examination fee after receiving the DCP examination approval (the exam must be taken within one year from the date of approval):
  5. Await the official Radio Certified Electronic Technician (R-2) License issued by the Department of Consumer Protection
