Connecticut Limited Antenna Dish Technician (V-4) License

The Limited Antenna Dish Technician (V-4) License allows you to do the installation, maintenance, repair, replacement, inspection, modification, and services of:

• Dish antennas
• Associated wiring
• Receiving equipment for:
  • A one meter or less in diameter dish designed to:
    • Direct to home satellite service
    • Receive direct broadcast satellite service
    • Receive or transmit fixed wireless signals via satellite

To perform the work, applicants MUST be employed by a licensed Dealer or Dealer-Technician.

How to Get the Limited Antenna Dish Technician (V-4) License in Connecticut?

1. Visit the CT Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) website to read the eligibility criteria, prerequisites, and documentation requirements for obtaining a Limited Antenna Dish Technician (V-4) License. Follow the process held in the Licensing for Television and Radio Work
2. Meet the necessary education requirements requested by the DCP
   • Required courses for high school graduation or GED test
   • Apprenticeship certified by the CT DOL Apprentice Training Division
3.    • For military service experience and training related to this application, contact the CT Department of Labor at (860) 263-6128 to request a recommendation
   • For equivalency and training, submit a completed application with any of the following pertaining to the Limited Antenna Dish Technician (V-4):
     • Certificates from completed courses
     • Educational transcripts or diplomas
     • Notarized letters from employers demonstrating on-the-job training
     • Copies of any licenses you may hold in another state
4. Schedule the Limited Antenna Dish Technician (V-4) administered by PSI© in the desired location and time and pay the examination fee after receiving the DCP examination approval (the exam must be taken within one year from the date of approval):
   • Take and pass the Limited Antenna Dish Technician (V-4) exam
   • If the exam is passed, submit the license fee along with the exam passing score results to obtain the official license
5. Await the official Limited Antenna Dish Technician (V-4) License issued by the Department of Consumer Protection
