Virginia Asbestos (ASB) Contractor License

The Asbestos (ASB) Contractor License allows you to do the installation, removal, or encapsulation of:

• Asbestos containing materials connected to real property

No other classification or specialty service provides for this function.

Class A applicants are required to take and pass the General, Virginia, and Advanced parts. The General and Virginia parts of the examination must be completed by Class B applicants. For Class C licenses, applicants are only required to pass the trade exam.

How to Get the Asbestos (ASB) Contractor’s License in Virginia?

1. Have a business entity
2. Complete the required training program
3. Take and pass the program examination to receive acertificate of completion
4. Fill out and submit a completedapplication and send it to the DPOR with the corresponding fee
5. Expect an answer from The Department regarding the license
6. In case of approval, the DPOR will issue a contractor license and send it by mail to the address on the application

Please note that applicants must hold a valid license issued by the DPOR.
