How to Get the Underground Storage Tank On-Site Supervisor Class B License in Texas?

  1. Be at least 18 years of age or older
  2. Take the Approved Training and Education Courses:
    • Class B: 12 hours repairing and installing of UST
  3. Meet the required work experience:
    • Two years installing, repairing, or removing underground storage tanks, utilities, or other engineering construction
  4. Submit the application for Underground Storage Tank On-Site Supervisor Class B License. The form must include sworn statements from at least four persons who have engaged the applicant or the applicant's employer within the previous 24 months to install, repair, remove, or perform underground utility or engineering construction
  5. Pay the required fee established by the TCEQ
  6. Sign up for an exam at your local Computer-Based Testing Center
  7. Await for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality notification once the requirements and the licensure process are confirmed

Texas Underground Storage Tank On-Site Supervisor Class B License Exam

Below are the currently available details regarding the Underground Storage Tank On-Site Supervisor Class B exam. Before candidates are allowed to take the computer-based test, they must first comply with the criteria to receive pre-approval from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. After receiving clearance, applicants can take four tests during a one-year approval period (the initial test plus up to three retests) at the Registered Test Center. If the candidate is ineligible to retake the examination, access to the licensing test will not be granted. Depending on the test site, applicants that fail to pass the initial test may retest it once right away but must come back on a different day to attempt the remaining three out of their four chances.
