  • Schedule and complete a OSSF - Installer I Training Course with the TEEX
  • Access the OLEA portal by creating an account on the TCEQ SUNSS platform and selecting the corresponding application form
  • Pay for the corresponding fee through this platform as well
    • If the application is approved by the Commission, the candidate will receive an approval letter by mail in three to four weeks, alongside instructions on how to register for the exam
    • If a deficiency is found in the application packet, a deficiency letter will be sent out instead, and the candidate will have 120 days to clear the deficiency(s). If not cleared accordingly, the application will expire, and it will be required to submit an application and fee to reapply for the license. Application fees are not refundable

Below is the available information related to the On-Site Sewage Facility System (OSSF) Installer Class I CBT exam. All candidates for licensing must fulfill the pre-approval requirements of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, before they can register to present the computer-based test. Following authorization, applicants may take the initial test plus up to three retests over the course of one year at the corresponding Registered Test Center. Access to the license exam will not be granted if the candidate does not qualify to retake the test. Depending on the testing location, applicants who fail the initial test may retake it (once) immediately and on the same day, but they shall return on another date to attempt the other three of the four chances that are given.
