Texas Electrical Apprentice License

The Electrical Apprentice License permits you to perform the activities listed below exclusively under the on-site supervision of a Licensed Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, or Residential Wireman:

  • Service entrance conductors
  • Install, maintain, or extend:
    • Electrical wiring systems
    • Appurtenances, apparatus, or equipment used in connection with the use of electrical energy in, on, outside, or attached to a building, residence, structure, property, or premises

How to Get the Electrical Apprentice License in Texas?

  1. Meet the minimum age requirement, which is 18. There are no specific educational or experience qualifications required
  2. Fill out an online application form; a non-refundable fee must be covered
  3. Receive a license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), which will be valid for one year from the date the process has been validated and completed
