New Mexico Asphalt, Bitumen and Concrete Construction (GA-98) Contractor License

The Asphalt, Bitumen and Concrete Construction (GA-98) Contractor License allows you to do the following work:

  • Covers all work authorized from GA-1 through GA-5 classifications
  • (GA-1) Streets, Roads, and Highways:
    • Clear, align, fill, compress, compact, build up or remove earth
    • Place and finish concrete or bituminous materials and apply a sealcoat
    • All work necessary to prepare the land to accept:
      • Streets
      • Roads
      • Highways
      • Culverts
      • Tunnels
      • Parking lots
      • Sidewalks
      • Driveways
  • (GA-2) Maintenance and Repair:
    • Apply seal coat to driveways and parking lots
    • Install rumble strips
    • Fix, maintain, repair, patch, mend, cover, fill, or replace:
      • Streets
      • Roads
      • Highways
      • Parking lots
      • Driveways
      • Sidewalks
      • Alleys
  • (GA-3) Curbs, Gutters, and Culverts:
    • Form, place, and finish:
      • Concrete curbs
      • Gutters
      • Driveway culverts
      • Public sidewalks
      • Bituminous ridge curbs for the deflection of water
  • (GA-4) Striping:
    • Install auto parking bumpers or stops and highway lane markers/reflectors
    • Paint directional stripes on:
      • Paved roads
      • Streets
      • Highways
      • Alleys
      • Parking lots
  • (GA-5) Highway Signs and Guard Rails:
    • Erect and stabilize signs and guard rails along:
      • Public highways
      • Streets
      • Roads and alleys

How to Get the Asphalt, Bitumen and Concrete Construction (GA-98) Contractor License in New Mexico?

  1. Meet the experience requirement:
    • At least four years of documented experience in the Asphalt, Bitumen and Concrete Construction (GA-98) Contractor field.
  2. Apply for eligibility through PSI©.
