Michigan Special Elevator Inspector License
The Special Elevator Inspector License allows you to do the following work:

How to Get a Special Elevator Inspector License?
- Meet the requirements for the Special Elevator Inspector license.
- Three years of experience in the field of elevator construction.
- At least one written reference certifying your experience.
- Take and pass the written and oral examination.
- Complete and submit the application:
- Fill in the form for the Special Elevator Inspector application:
- If applying by mail, submit the application and fee to P.O. Box 30255, Lansing, MI, 48909.
- If applying online:
- Go to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs website
- Login or Register for an account (make sure to read and accept the terms and to fill in the contact's information).
- Go to “BCC licenses” and then click on “Apply for a License”.
- Read and accept the terms.
- Select Special Elevator Inspector license and trade.
- Complete each step (this includes fee payment online).
- After submitting the application, look out for PSI© correspondence as they will be in contact to schedule the examination:
- Reference the PSI© Candidate Information Bulletin to go over the details pertaining to the examination
- Go to the PSI© examination website.
- Sign in or register with the same credentials as the LARA initial application.
- Select the corresponding examination and add the information sent by the BCC.
- Pay and schedule the examination.
- Take the examination.
- After taking and passing the exam, PSI© will notify the board, and the license will be issued.
