Georgia Lead Services Risk Assessor Contractor License

The Lead Services Risk Assessor Contractor License allows you to do the following work:

  • Risk assessments conduction
  • Abatement clearance testing
  • Sampling for the presence of lead in:
    • Paint
    • Dust
    • Soil

How to Get the Lead Services Risk Assessor Contractor’s License in Georgia?

  1. Meet one of the following combinations of education and experience requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of experience in a related field
    • An Associate’s degree and 2 years of experience in a related field
    • A certification as an industrial hygienist, PE, registered architect and/or certification in a related engineering/health/ environmental field
    • A high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 3 years of experience in a related field
  2. Attend the Initial Inspector and the Risk Assessor Training given by an Accredited Provider
  3. Register for and pass the LEHARisk Assesor examination with Pearson Vue©
  4. Send an application through the Georgia Environmental Protection Division Online System (GEOS) and pay the corresponding fees
  5. Attach the following documents to the application:
    • A color headshot photo
    • Training certificate(s)
    • Work history/education documentation
    • Exam approval certification
  6. Await for the Lead-Based Paint Program to issue the license depending on the payment type chosen and workload. ACH payments are processed quicker. Note that this may take up to 2 weeks
