Elevator Specialist Electrical Contractor means that the scope of certification includes and is limited to the electrical portion of the installation, repair, assembly, service and maintenance of elevators, conveyors, electrified dumbwaiters, escalators and moving walkways and all automatic controls and manuals, signal systems, and all other manual devices and controls, and electrical wiring pertaining to the safe and efficient operation of such elevators. However, the scope of such certification shall not include work beyond the last disconnecting means or adjacent terminal equipment or in the elevator shaft or designated construction area. As regulated by Florida Statute, a person who has passed an elevator specialty electrical contractor competency exam may perform these or related tasks or may supervise persons employed in the performance of these tasks.
