Connecticut Crane Operator Apprentice License

The Crane Operator Apprentice License allows you to do the following work:

  • Safe operation of:
    • Crane
    • Hoisting equipment
  • Application of:
    • Load chart information
    • Safe shutdown
    • Securing procedures
  • Recognize all items required in a shift inspection

The holder of this license may perform such work ONLY while employed by a Licensed Contractor.

How to Get the Crane Operator Apprentice License in Connecticut?

  1. Visit the CT Department of Administrative Services (DAS) website to read the eligibility criteria, prerequisites, and documentation requirements for obtaining a Crane Operator Apprentice Contractor License. Follow the process held in the Apply for a Crane Operator Apprentice License, Registration, Renewal and Re-Testing
  2. Register to create an account with Connecticut's eLicense Site and fill out the Crane Operator Apprentice license application
  3. Pay the corresponding fee of the application to the DAS
  4. Meet the requirements of the Department of Administrative Services:
  5. Await the response from the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) for confirmation if the license will be issued. The applicant will receive the Crane Operator Apprentice license via mail
