Do I need a Background check to get my Arizona Contractor's License?

All persons listed on a license application must complete a criminal background check in the state of Arizona, which can be accomplished online through PeopleG2 at Licensing Background Checks. If you have any questions, and or Issues with your background check, please contact:
A Background check receipt is only available once the background check is completed. Once the background check has completed you will receive an email from PeopleG2 with your completed report. At that time you can email PeopleG2 to obtain a receipt. Please email
A.R.S. § 32-1122 authorizes the Registrar of Contractors (ROC) to check criminal records before issuing or renewing a license. After completing this criminal background check online, the results will automatically be provided to the ROC.
