What is the CMS Exam in Nevada?

The Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB) is the official entity that regulates Contractor Licenses within Nevada. The State of Nevada requires all contractor applicants interested in qualifying to obtain their license to pass a Construction Management Survey (CMS) Exam.

PSI© is the Testing Company that conducts the exam process for Nevada Contractor Licenses. In order to schedule the exam, the applicant must have met the specific experience requirements and subsequently submit the application for the corresponding license. Before scheduling the test, the candidate must await an Examination Eligibility Form (emailed by the Board) with a Candidate ID Number to get a date for exam availability. The CMS Exam is an open-book exam, and applicants will have up to three attempts to pass it.

The CMS test is a Business and Law Examination that consists of 63 questions, 60 scored questions and 3 non-scored items. The applicants will have a total of 120 minutes to complete 60 questions, and 6 minutes to complete 3 of the non-scored questions. The applicant is required to have a minimum passing score of 75 percent or higher to successfully pass the exam.
