The Limited Technician License allows you to do the following:

• Execute technical work only for a historic resort hotel

How to Get the Limited Technician License in West Virginia?

1. Be at least 18 years of age
2. Meet one of the following requirements:
   • Completion of a Historic Resort Hotel's approved Apprenticeship Program, as registered by the U.S. Department of Labor; OR
   • Documentation of three years of recent, active experience in the elevator industry (maintenance, service/repair, or any combination thereof), verified by current and previous employers authorized to conduct business in the State, on an affidavit; and pass a written competency exam approved or provided by the West Virginia Division of Labor

4. Receive a license or registration certificate (valid for two years) issued by the Division once the process is confirmed
