Washington Manufactured/Mobile Home Set Up Contractor License
The Manufactured/Mobile Home Set Up Contractor License allows you to do the following work:
- Install, alter, repair, or prepare for moving any type of manufactured mobile home to sit it, which includes connections of:
- Plumbing
- Gas
- Electrical and foundation systems
Installation of electrical wires and equipment that convey electrical power to the home or to an outlet in the home, and the ground cross-over, requires an electrical license. A certified installer must be employed. (Equipment DOES NOT include plug-in household appliances.)
How to Get the Manufactured/Mobile Home Set Up Contractor’s License in Washington?
- Determine the business type and register with the Department of Revenue:
- If setting up a sole proprietor or partnership, determine the business name
- If starting a Limited Liability Company (LLC) or a Corporation, refer to the Secretary of State for information on how to incorporate the business
- Complete and get a Washington Continuous Contractor Surety Bond for the required amount
- Purchase a general liability insurance policy for the required amount
- Fill out an Application for Contractor Registration with notarized signatures. If unsure of how to correctly fill out the application form, the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries offers help with the application and business registration to those who visit their local offices
- Gather all the previous documents and send them with the registration fee to:
