Washington Manufactured/Mobile Home Installer License

The Manufactured/Mobile Home Installer License allows you to:

  • Perform installation work covering all aspects of installing a home:
    • Construction of the foundation system
    • Installation of the support piers and earthquake resistant bracing system
    • Required connection to foundation system and support piers
    • Connections to the on-site water and sewer systems that are necessary for the normal operation of the home
    • Application of the skirting
    • Extension of the pressure relief valve for the water heater

How to get a Manufactured/Mobile Home Installer license in Washington?

  1. Fill out and submit a completed Application for Manufactured Home Installer Training and Certification, along with the corresponding fee
    • Issue a check or money order addressed to the Department of Labor & Industries and mail it to their PO Box: Factory Assembled Structures PO Box 44420 Olympia WA 98504-4420
    • Note that applications must be received before the cutoff date. If not, the application might be scheduled for the next available class
  2. Take the training course offered by the Department of Labor & Industries, which may be accessed online. Once completed, pass the 3-hour examination with a minimum score of 70%
    • The applicant must wait for application approval to take the training and examination
  3. Once approved, expect the Installer Certification License to be issued by the department
