Washington Lathing and Plastering Contractor License
The Lathing and Plastering Contractor License allows you to install lath and any other material prepared or manufactured to provide a base or bond, and:
- Coating of surfaces with a mixture of:
- Sand
- Gypsum plaster
- Quick-lime or hydrated lime and water
- Sand and cement and water
- A combination of such other materials that create a permanent surface coating, including:
- Coatings for the purpose of soundproofing and fireproofing
- These coatings are applied with a plasterer's trowel or sprayed over any surface which offers a mechanical means for the support of such coating, and will adhere by suction
- Coatings for the purpose of soundproofing and fireproofing
How to Get the Lathing and Plastering Contractor’s License in Washington?
- Determine the business type and register with the Department of Revenue:
- If setting up a sole proprietor or partnership, determine the business name
- If starting a Limited Liability Company (LLC) or a Corporation, refer to the Secretary of State for information on how to incorporate the business
- Complete and get a Washington Continuous Contractor Surety Bond for the required amount
- Purchase a general liability insurance policy for the required amount
- Fill out an Application for Contractor Registration with notarized signatures. If unsure of how to correctly fill out the application form, the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries offers help with the application and business registration to those who visit their local offices
- Gather all the previous documents and send them with the registration fee to:
