The Boiler, Steam Fitting, Process Piping Contractor License allows you to do the following work:
- Install, service, and repair power boiler installations
- Chimney connections
- Flues
- Refractories
- Burners
- Thermal insulation and accessories
- Fuel and nonpotable water lines from the source of supply to boilers
- Process and specialty piping and related equipment
- Pneumatic and electrical control
- Sheet insulation
- All other equipment, including solar heating equipment associated with these systems
- Hot water heating systems, including:
- Fire-tube and water-tube steel power boilers
- Hot water heating low-pressure boilers
- Steam fitting and piping
- Fittings
- Valves
- Gauges
- Pumps
- Radiators
- Convectors
- Hydraulics
- Fuel oil tanks
- Fuel oil lines
How to Get the Boiler, Steam Fitting, Process Piping Contractor’s License in Washington?
- Determine the business type and register with the Department of Revenue:
- If setting up a sole proprietor or partnership, determine the business name
- If starting a Limited Liability Company (LLC) or a Corporation, refer to the Secretary of State for information on how to incorporate the business
- Complete and get a Washington Continuous Contractor Surety Bond for the required amount
- Purchase a general liability insurance policy for the required amount
- Fill out an Application for Contractor Registration with notarized signatures. If unsure of how to correctly fill out the application form, the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries offers help with the application and business registration to those who visit their local offices
- Gather all the previous documents and send them with the registration fee to:
