  • Located at a facility but physically disconnected from the energy input and system
  • No longer at a facility

How to Get the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector License in Washington?

In the state of Washington, all Boiler and Pressure vessel inspectors must have a "work card" issued by L&I. The applicant must meet the following steps to qualify for a work card.

  1. Fill out and submit an Application for Certificate of Competency as an Inspector of Pressure Retaining Items
    • Note that the application must be received 30 days before the examination date
  2. Take and pass the National Board and the Washington State boiler examination
  3. Submit the corresponding examination fee
  4. Expect a response from the department in regards to the license
