Washington Asbestos Contractor License
The Asbestos Contractor License allows you to do the following work:
- Remove or encapsulate asbestos
- Submit bids and contract for handling asbestos-containing material
- Work on all types of asbestos, such as:
- Chrysotile
- Amosite
- Crocidolite
- Tremolite
- Anthophyllite
- Actinolite
How to Get the Asbestos Contractor’s License in Washington?
- Meet the pre-requirements:
- Have an active contractor registration with the Department of Labor & Industries and a Washington-certified Asbestos Supervisor on the applicant's payroll
- Take and complete the training course
- Fill out and submit the Asbestos Contractor New Application for Certification
- Submit the corresponding fee to The Department of Labor & Industries
- Expect an answer from the Department regarding the Certification card. Please note that cards may take up to 6 weeks to arrive
Please note that the Asbestos Contractor license is valid for one year after contractor registration with the Department. After that time, the applicant must renew their certificate. For further questions, please contact the Asbestos Program at 360-902-5435 or
