Utah Combination Inspector License

The Combination Inspector License allows you to do the following work:

  • Inspect the components of any building, structure, or work for which a standard is provided in the specific edition of the state construction codes
  • Determine whether the construction, alteration, remodeling, repair, or installation of all components of any building, structure, or work is in compliance with the state construction code
  • Take appropriate action as is provided in the mentioned codes after the determination of compliance or noncompliance with the state construction codes

How to Get the Combination Inspector License in Utah?

  1. Candidates must present certificates from the following exams:
    1. International Code Council (ICC) (will require all of the examinations):
      • Commercial Building Inspector (ICC Exam ID: B2)
      • Residential Building Inspector (ICC Exam ID: B1)
      • Commercial Electrical Inspector (ICC Exam ID: E2) *
      • Residential Electrical Inspector (ICC Exam ID: E1) *
      • Commercial Plumbing Inspector (ICC Exam ID: P2)
      • Residential Plumbing Inspector (ICC Exam ID: P1)
      • Commercial Mechanical Inspector (ICC Exam ID: M2)
      • Residential Mechanical Inspector (ICC Exam ID: M1)
    2. The ICC Commercial and Residential Electrical certifications may be replaced with these IAEI Certifications:
      • Certified Electrical Inspectors - Master (CEI-M)
      • Certified Electrical Inspector - Residential (CEI-R)
