To obtain the Florida General Contractor License, applicants must take and pass the trade and business exam. The trade exam is a two-part exam, Contract Administration and Project Management. The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) provides information related to the official trade examination reference list.
We carry the books for the Florida GC trade (Contract Administration and Project Management) and Business and Finance exams. Any orders placed before 2 PM are shipped the same day via UPS, and a tracking number is emailed before 3 PM.
The reference list has a total of 18 books that are recommended for applicants to study to help prepare themselves for the exams.
The Florida Contractors Manual, Builder's Guide to Accounting, A201, A401, and A701 is required for the business and trade exams. The only book used exclusively for the Business and Finance exam is Florida Statutes Chapter 455.
Contract Administration and Project Management exams are included in our online courses. We also have the online course for the Business and Finance exam, which is mandatory for contractors regardless of a specific trade. You may attend our review classes in Tampa, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Fort Myers. You must pass both exams.
