The Lead Business Certification License grants the required qualification to a business to:
- Perform lead-based paint activities in target housing and child-occupied facilities
- Have and certify a performing or lead-based paint activities:
- Company
- Contractor
- Partnership
- Corporation
- Sole proprietorship
- Association
- Business Entity
How to Get the Lead Business Certification License in Texas?
- Comply with the requirements set forth for Lead Business Certification:
- Abide by the standards of the TELRR, including EPA and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations; notify the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) of impending abatement projects; supply and train employees in the use of PPE and supervise compliance; ensure workers are certified and have their corresponding DSHS ID Card & Government-issued photo
- Fill out and turn in the Lead Business Application and the Business Information Form, whether physically or through the Online Licensing Service portal, plus, covering the corresponding fee stipulated on the Summary of Certification Requirements page; the fee and the certification are valid for a period of two years, no trade exam or education background is a prerequisite to apply as long as the organization ensures that only Certified Employees perform lead-based paint activities in target housing and child-occupied facilities
