Oregon Third Party Plan Reviewer & Inspector (SRI) License

The Third Party Plan Reviewer & Inspector (SRI) License allows you to do the following work:

  • Work for a third-party
  • Inspections in accordance to specialty code
  • Review plans to ensure compliance to code and standards

A Third Party Plan Reviewer & Inspector (SRI) does not directly work as an employee of a Municipality, or the Building Codes Division.

How to Get the Third Party Plan Reviewer & Inspector (SRI) License in Oregon?

  1. Fill out the application form, carefully reading the instructions and information provided:
  2. Ensure that all the required step sections have been completed:
    • Application information
    • License type
      • Licensed Plan Reviewer or Inspector (SRI)
      • Licensed Plan Reviewer or Inspector - Reapplication (SRI)
    • Test location
    • Qualifying certifications, must possess both:
      • Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC)
      • Appropriate Oregon Code Certification (OCC)
    • Qualifying experience
      • For residential structures only
      • For all structures
  3. Submit the following documents alongside the application:
    • Qualifying experience documents
  4. Send the application and payment either via email or fax according to the indications determined in the form document
  5. Receive notice from the Building Codes Division with a test authorization letter if applicable once the qualifications have been approved
  6. Obtain further details and a license issued by the BCD after the licensure process is successfully carried out and validated
