Oregon Residential Restoration (RRC) Contractor License

The Residential Restoration (RRC) Contractor License allows you to do the following work:

• Restoration services for residential and small commercial structures, such as:
  • Non-routine cleaning
  • Water removal
  • Personal property inventory
  • Debris removal
  • Board-up services

The Residential Restoration (RRC) Contractor License DOES NOT allow you to do the following work:

• Repair structures
• Replace
• Demolition

How to Get the Residential Restoration (RRC) Contractor’s License in Oregon?

1. Be at least 18 years of age
2. Complete a minimum of 16 hours of pre-license training with one of Oregon’s approved providers
3. Take and pass the trade examination with PSI©:
   1. Sign in or register on PSI©’s examination website
   2. Pay and schedule the examination
   3. Refer to PSI©’s Residential Restoration (RRC) Exam Candidate Information Bulletin for more information on the test
4. Register the business, applying for the license; for more information on how to set up a business, refer to Oregon Start a Business Guide
5. Get workers' compensation insurance if planning to hire employees
6. Obtain other employer account numbers and state and federal tax numbers by the Oregon’s Department of Revenue and the Internal Revenue Service
7. Fill out the form that corresponds to your application type:
   • Limited Liability Company (LLC), Corporation, or TRUST
   • Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) or Limited Partnership (LP)
   • Partnership or Joint Venture
   • Sole Proprietorship
8. Submit the application, including the original surety bond, the insurance certificate, and the fee for a two-year license to:
