Oregon Residential Electrical Inspector (CAE) License

The Residential Electrical Inspector (CAE) License allows you to do the following work:

Inspect:
- Electrical work regulated by the Oregon Residential Specialty Code, except apartment buildings
- Work regulated by the Oregon Manufactured Dwelling Installation Specialty Code
- Provisions of OAR chapter 918, division 500
- Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards, 24 CFR 3280 and 3282
- Solar PV installation up to 25 Kw

How to Get the Residential Electrical Inspector (CAE) License in Oregon?

There are two pathways through which a Residential Electrical Inspector (CAE) License can be obtained.

Take and pass the course that corresponds to the Residential Electrical Inspector (CAE) license:

Meet the prerequisites for the corresponding course:
- Hold a current Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC)

Complete the following certification form:
- Residential Electrical Inspector (CAE)
Fill out a certification experience verification form and sign an applicant’s affidavit
Choose an exam location
