Oregon Limited Renewable Energy (CLR) Contractor License
A Limited Renewable Energy (CLR) Contractor must employ at least one full-time Limited Journeyman Sign Electrician (SIG).
The Limited Renewable Energy (CLR) Contractor License allows you to do the following work:
- Renewable energy electrical installations limited to:
- 25 kva
- 600 volts
- Make and supervise sign installation if the contractor is a sole proprietor and is licensed as a:
- Limited Journeyman
- General Supervising Electrician (S) or
- General Journeyman Electrician (J)
The Limited Renewable Energy (CLR) Contractor License DOES NOT allow you to do the following work:
- Exceed the scope of work of the Limited Journeyman Sign Electrician (SIG)
How to Get the Limited Renewable Energy (CLR) Contractor’s License in Oregon?
- Fill out the Limited Renewable Energy (CLR) License Application Form
- Provide the company’s Construction Contractors Board number and expiration date:
- According to OAR 918-030-0015, businesses registered with the Building Codes Division (BCD) and applying for a business license must show an active license with the Construction Contractors Board (CCB)
- If the business/company is exempt from CCB licensure, the applicant must attach a letter with the application packet explaining the reason for the exemption
- Register the company’s name with Oregon’s Secretary of State
- Designate a Signing Supervisor:
- Refer to BCD’s chart for more information on the options for designating a Signing Supervisor for each license
- If the business’ designated signing supervisor is a Qualified Person (QP), verify QP’s experience for business licenses
- Submit a complete packet including all the previous documents by mail or fax (do not email the application packet) to:
