The Transmission Lines, Tanks, and Substations (NonElectrical) (GF-8) Contractor License allows you to do the following work:
- Construct, build, and place lines for the transmission or conveyance of:
- Petroleum
- Water
- Natural gas
- Other fluid substances
- Compacting, paving, and surfacing necessary and incidental to the completion of the installation of such facilities
- Application of protective coatings
- Trenching
- Boring
- Shoring
- Backfilling
- Compacting
- Incidental buildings
- Tanks
- Substations
- Construct, repair, or alter industrial plants, including, but not limited to, refineries and power generation plants
How to Get the Transmission Lines, Tanks, and Substations (NonElectrical) (GF-8) Contractor License in New Mexico?
- Meet the experience requirement:
- At least two years of documented experience in the Transmission Lines, Tanks, and Substations (NonElectrical) (GF-8) Contractor field.
- Apply for eligibility through PSI©.
- Fill out the Qualifying Party Certificate.
- Complete the Work Experience Certificate.

- New Mexico CORE (GF) Contractor Trade Exam.
- New Mexico Business and Law Examination (PSI©).
- After passing the examination, complete the Application for Contractor License and the Construction Industries Division Contractor License Code Bond.
