The Streets, Roads, and Highways (GA-1) Contractor License allows you to do the following work:

Place and finish concrete or bituminous materials and apply a sealcoat
Clear, align, fill, compress, compact, build up or remove earth
All work necessary to prepare the land to accept:
- Roads
- Streets
- Highways
- Culverts
- Tunnels
- Sidewalks
- Parking lots
- Driveways
This classification includes the scopes of work authorized by GA-2 Maintenance and Repair and GA-3 Curbs, Gutters, and Culverts Contractor License:
- GA-2
  - Install rumble strips
  - Apply seal coat to driveways and parking lots
  - Fix, maintain, repair, patch, mend, cover, fill, or replace:
    - Highways
    - Streets
    - Roads
    - Parking lots
    - Driveways
    - Sidewalks
    - Alleys
- GA-3
  - Form, place, and finish:
    - Bituminous ridge curbs for the deflection of water
    - Concrete curbs
    - Gutters
    - Driveway culverts
    - Public sidewalks

How to Get the Streets, Roads, and Highways (GA-1) Contractor License in New Mexico?

Meet the experience requirement:
- At least two years of documented experience in the Streets, Roads, and Highways (GA-1) Contractor field.
Apply for eligibility through PSI©.
- Fill out the Qualifying Party Certificate.
- Complete the Work Experience Certificate.

  3. Choose the corresponding examination and add the social security number.

  2. Fill out the New Mexico Contractor Examination Registration Form.

Take and pass the following examinations:
- New Mexico Streets, Roads, and Highways (GA-1) Contractor Trade Exam.
- New Mexico Business and Law Examination (PSI©).
After passing the examination, complete the Application for Contractor License and the Construction Industries Division Contractor License Code Bond.
