The Plastering, Stucco and Lathing (GS-30) Contractor License allows you to do the following work:

Prepare wall and ceiling surfaces:
- Interior
- Exterior
- Wood
- Metal lath
- Wallboard
- Other properly prepared surfaces which will accept and hold a mixture of:
  - Sand
  - Plaster (including gypsum plaster)
  - Lime and water
  - Sand and cement with water
  - Any combination of materials to create a permanent surface coating:
    - These coatings may be applied manually or mechanically on surfaces that will support such coating
Install steel, wood, or other division-approved stud systems (non-structural)
Channel iron work and affix lath or other materials or products prepared or manufactured to provide a base for such coatings

How to Get the Plastering, Stucco and Lathing (GS-30) Contractor License in New Mexico?

Meet the experience requirement:
- At least two years of documented experience in the Plastering, Stucco and Lathing (GS-30) Contractor field.
Apply for eligibility through PSI©.
- Fill out the Qualifying Party Certificate.
- Complete the Work Experience Certificate.

  2. Fill out the New Mexico Contractor Examination Registration Form.

Take and pass the following examinations:
- New Mexico Plastering, Stucco and Lathing (GS-30) Contractor Trade Exam.
- New Mexico Business and Law Examination (PSI©).
After passing the examination, complete the Application for Contractor License and the Construction Industries Division Contractor License Code Bond.

- Valid Qualifying Party Certificate
- Examination Passing Scores.
- Proof of Financial Responsibility Bond
