New Mexico Masonry (GS-16) Contractor License
The Masonry (GS-16) Contractor License allows you to do the following work:
- Install or erect brick and other baked clay products
- Rough cut and dressed stone
- Artificial stone and pre-cast blocks
- Blocks, structural glass brick, or block adobe
- Laid at random or in courses with or without mortar
- Form masonry walls
- Anchored stone or masonry veneer
- Building walls
- Freestanding walls six feet or higher from ground level and retaining walls measuring thirty-six inches or more measured from the bottom of the footing
(Does not include the execution, fabrication, and erecting of poured cement and concrete except as a foundation for a wall).
How to Get the Masonry (GS-16) Contractor License in New Mexico?
- Meet the experience requirement:
- At least two years of documented experience in the Masonry (GS-16) Contractor field.
- Apply for eligibility through PSI©.
- Fill out the Qualifying Party Certificate.
- Complete the Work Experience Certificate.
- Send these documents via mail with the corresponding application fee to:

- To apply online, the candidates must:
- Sign in or create an account on the PSI© official website.
- Enter zip code for exam locations.
- Choose the corresponding examination and add the social security number.
- Pay for and schedule the exam.
- To apply by mail or fax:
- Open and check the General Construction Candidate Information Bulletin.
- Fill out the New Mexico Contractor Examination Registration Form.
- Pay the fees and send the documents via mail or fax to:

- New Mexico Masonry (GS-16) Contractor Trade Exam
- New Mexico Business and Law Examination (PSI©)
- After passing the examination, complete the Application for Contractor License and the Construction Industries Division Contractor License Code Bond.
- Gather the following documents and send them by mail to PSI©:
- Contractor License Form
- CID Contractor License Code Bond
- Valid Qualifying Party Certificate
- Examination Passing Scores.
- Proof of Financial Responsibility Bond
- Proof of current New Mexico Tax ID number application with a registration certificate or official stamp.
