The Manufactured Housing Installer 3 License allows you to do the following work:

• Service and repair natural gas piping and appliances
• Change and adjust orifices in a manufactured home before connecting to LP gas
• Service and repair plumbing and electrical systems
• Work under MHD-3:
  • Structural repairs
  • Alterations
  • Modifications

How to apply for the Manufactured Housing Installer 3 License in New Mexico?

1. Fill out the application form for the Manufactured Housing Installer 3 license:
   • MH Installer Application
2. The Manufactured Housing Installer 3 license is required to meet at least one of the following experience requirements:
   • 1,800 hours of experience installing manufactured homes
   • 3,600 hours of experience in the construction of manufactured homes
   • 3,600 hours of experience as a Supervisor in building construction
   • 1,800 hours as an active installation inspector for manufactured homes
   • Completion of one year of a college program in a construction-related field
   • Any combination of experience or education from 1 - 5 above that totals 3,600 hours
   • Part of the experience requirements applicant for an installation license must complete 12 hours of training, at least 4 of which must consist of training on the federal installation standards and installation program.
3. Schedule the exam through PSI© using the Examination Registration Form. No pre-approval is required for scheduling.
4. Take and pass the following examination:
   • New Mexico Manufactured Housing Installer 3 Trade Exam
5. Upon receiving the passing test scores, submit the application to the CID-Manufactured Housing Division for final processing, and the CID-MHD will issue the license.
