New Mexico Manufactured Housing Installer 1 License
The Manufactured Housing Installer 1 License allows you to do the following work:
- Level ground and place piers to support a manufactured home
- Attach and tighten tie-downs
- Connect existing water and sewer lines
- Connect electrical cables to the home's approved existing receptacle
- Install and repair skirting
- Connect sewer and water
- Install, block, level permanent or alternative foundations
How to apply for the Manufactured Housing Installer 1 License in New Mexico?
- Fill out the application form for the Manufactured Housing Installer 1 license:
- The Manufactured Housing Installer 1 license is required to meet at least one of the following experience requirements:
- 1,800 hours of experience installing manufactured homes
- 3,600 hours of experience in the construction of manufactured homes
- 3,600 hours of experience as a Supervisor in building construction
- 1,800 hours as an active installation inspector for manufactured homes
- Completion of one year of a college program in a construction-related field
- Any combination of experience or education from 1 - 5 above that totals 3,600 hours
- Part of the experience requirements applicant for an installation license must complete 12 hours of training, at least 4 of which must consist of training on the federal installation standards and installation program.
- Schedule the exam through PSI© using the Examination Registration Form. No pre-approval is required for scheduling.
- Take and pass the following examination:
- New Mexico Manufactured Housing Installer 1 Trade Exam
- Upon receiving the passing test scores, submit the application to the CID-Manufactured Housing Division for final processing, and the CID-MHD will issue the license.
