Manufactured Housing
For the Manufactured Housing License, pre-approval is not required for any testing. However, specific experience requirements must be met for all Manufactured Housing Installers. All contractors licensed by the Construction Industries Division (CID) performing work on any manufactured home must be registered with the Manufactured Housing Division (MHD).

How to apply for Manufactured Housing Licenses?
- To obtain a Manufactured Housing License, you must fill out the application forms for the trade you wish to perform work in.
- Schedule the exam through PSI© using the Examination Registration Form. No pre-approval is required for scheduling. However, the Manufactured Housing Installer Licenses ARE required to meet at least one of the specific experience requirements.
- 1,800 hours of experience installing manufactured homes
- 3,600 hours of experience in the construction of manufactured homes
- 3,600 hours of experience as a Supervisor in building construction
- 1,800 hours as an active installation inspector for manufactured homes
- Completion of one year of a college program in a construction-related field
- Any combination of experience or education from 1 - 5 above that totals 3,600 hours
- Part of the experience requirements applicant for an installation license must complete 12 hours of training, at least 4 of which must consist of training on the federal installation standards and installation program.
- Upon receiving the passing test scores, submit the application to the CID-Manufactured Housing Division for final processing, and the CID-MHD will issue the license.
