How to Get a Nevada Steel Reinforcing and Erection (C14) Contractor License

  1. Get a Nevada Business ID before completing the Contractor Application. Obtain the business ID by contacting the Nevada Secretary of State and filling out the application for a Nevada State Business License
  2. Collect and send the following required documentation by the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB) to submit the contractor application:
  3. Present proof of past work history by providing one of the types of documentation mentioned below:
    • Four Certification of Work Experience Forms (Certificates)
      • The minimum time of experience must be of 4 full years (1460 days) but each Certification of Work Experience Form doesn't have to demonstrate four years of experience
    • Proof of transferrable military training and experience
    • An active Master's Certification issued by an officially recognized agent or governmental agency similar to the Steel Reinforcing and Erection (C14) classification
    • Proof of eligibility for Licensure by Endorsement. Applicants are recommended to review the State Equivalency Chart to determine their eligibility. To be considered for licensure by endorsement, you must submit a Request for Verification of License with your application, completed by your endorsing state
  4. Fill out and send the completed Contractor License Application Form with all documents
  5. Expect an Examination Eligibility form AFTER the application has been submitted and the work experience has been verified
  6. Take and Pass the following tests administered by PSI©:
  7. When NSCB has approved the license, the applicant must submit the License Bond indicated on the approval letter and proof of Workers' Compensation Insurance
  8. The NSCB will issue the license and send it by mail to the address of the application
