Nevada State Contractors Board NSCB will issue this license to qualified applicants for the performance of specialties which are not authorized by a license of any other classification or subclassification.

  1. To Get a Nevada Specialties Not Authorized by Other Classifications (C40) Contractor License, obtain a Nevada Business ID before starting the Contractor Application. The business ID is an official document issued by the Nevada Secretary of State. To complete the business ID application, contact the office and apply to obtain a Nevada State Business License
  2. Gather the following documents requested by the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB) to submit with the application:
  3. Submit the completed Certification of Work Experience with one of the following specifications:
    • Proof of past work history of a minimum of 4 years (1460 days) of work experience as a journeyman, foreman, supervision employee, or contractor in the specific or similar classification requested within 15 years of filing this application. Provide a Certification of Work Experience for each Trade Qualifier practiced at the time of work experience. Each certificate does NOT have to demonstrate four years of experience
    • Verify the eligibility for Licensure by Endorsement with the State Equivalency Chart
    • Proof of transferable military training and experience
    • Proof of an active Master's Certification issued by an officially recognized agent or governmental agency similar to the Specialties Not Authorized by Other Classifications (C40) classification
  4. Complete the Nevada Contractor License Application Form with all documents and submit to the Board
  5. After the application has been submitted and the work experience has been verified, await an Examination Eligibility form
  6. Take and Pass the following tests administered by PSI©:
  7. Once the Nevada State Contractors Board has approved the license, the applicant must send proof of Workers' Compensation Insurance and the License Bond indicated on the approval letter
  8. When the Specialties Not Authorized by Other Classifications (C40) contractor license issuance is completed, the NSCB will send it via mail to the address of the application
