How to Get the Commercial and Residential Pools (A10) Contractor’s License in Nevada?

  1. Attain a Nevada business ID before starting the NV Contractor Application. To obtain the Nevada business ID, an application for a Nevada Business License must be submitted to the Nevada Secretary of State
  2. Accumulate the necessary documents requested by the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB) and submit them with your contractor application
  3. Present proof of past work history by submitting one of the following types of documentation:
    • FourCertification of Work Experience Forms (Certificates)
      • Each certification of experience time must equal a minimum of 4 full years (1460 days)
    • Proof of eligibility forLicensure by Endorsement. Applicants are advised to review theState Equivalency Chart to determine their eligibility. To be considered for licensure by endorsement, you must submit aRequest for Verification of License with your application, completed by your endorsing state
    • Proof of transferrable military training and experience
    • An active Master's Certification issued by an officially recognized agent or governmental agency similar to the Commercial and Residential Pools (A10) classification
  4. Complete and send the Nevada Contractor License Application form with all completed forms
  5. Wait for an Examination Eligibility Form from the NSCB once the application has been sent and the Commercial and Residential Pools (A10) work experience has been confirmed
  6. Take and pass the Management Survey Business and Law Exam (CMS) and Commercial and Residential Pools (A10) trade exam administered by PSI©
  7. With the approval of the license by the NV State Contractors Board, the applicant must send proof of Workers' Compensation Insurance and thelicense bond indicated on the approval letter
  8. Expect for the Commercial and Residential Pools (A10) contractor license by mail once the NSCB issues the license
